Formula E win third consecutive title for Renault e.dams team
Renault e.dams is the only squad to have won the FIA Formula E team title since the electric racing discipline was formed, winning again in the 2016-2017 season.
Last year, Renault e.dams took both the team’s and driver’s titles with Sébastien Buemi, and will try in Season 4 to remain undefeated in a more competitive championship.
During the third title celebration, the Renault ZE 17 was unveiled by drivers Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost, and presented by Alain Prost and Jean-Paul Driot.
The new livery is characterised by a lively blue – Renault’s symbolic electric vehicle colour. White is added to respect the brand’s codes.
Acronis Storage and Acronis Backup Cloud solutions partners Renault for the next season.
Team co-owner Alain Prost says the goal remains to win both championships and he expects competition will be tougher with other car manufacturers joining in.
Renault electric vehicles director Gilles Normand says silent, zero emissions Formula E racing shows electric vehicles offer real driving pleasure. “This new title confirms Renault’s leadership in electric technology both on the track and on the road. Indeed, in Europe, more than one in four electric vehicles is a Renault, and the Zoe is at the top of this fast-growing segment.”
