Tesla ‘Battery Day’ delayed till June
Tesla’s planned ‘Battery Day’ announcements will likely be held in two parts, the first being a June webcast and the second an “in-person” event possibly in the third quarter of this year.
That’s the message from Tesla chief executive Elon Musk who initially planned to reveal the company’s battery projects in late May.
EVtalk earlier reported the Battery Day is expected to include a move to establish ‘Terafactories’ rather than Gigafactories.
Tesla is also likely to announce details around a secret Roadrunner project to make a “million mile” battery using more energy dense and cheaper battery cells.
Musk has previously described the upcoming Battery Day as “one of the most exciting days in Tesla’s history”.
Now he has tweeted: “We’re going to have to push out the date or attendance will be very low. Maybe do in two parts: webcast next month & in-person event a few months later?”
