Auckland singled out as Fuso eCanter gains pace
Daimler Truck says it’s “going full speed ahead to win the race to zero emissions” with now more than 300 all-electric Fuso eCanters delivered to customers around the world.
“Customers in 16 countries and cities such as New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki and even Auckland trust in the reliable urban delivery truck. More deliveries are set to follow successively,” the company says.
The global eCanter fleet has also posted another milestone with the distance travelled in daily customer operations now exceeding a combined four million kilometres.
As of November, more than 40 eCanters were delivered in the US, around 75 in Japan and more than 190 in Europe.
Earlier in 2021, the all-electric light-duty truck was introduced to New Zealand and Australia.
Five Fuso eCanter electric trucks are now taking part in an Auckland Transport inner city zero emissions area (ZEA) trial.
Small series production of the model started in 2017 and Daimler Truck aims to have all its new vehicles in Europe, North America, and Japan “tank-to-wheel” CO2-neutral by 2039.
