Karsan gets European Bus of the Year Award
Karsan’s 12-metre electric bus e-ATA has been named “Bus of the Year” in Europe by the Sustainable Bus of The Year 2023 for “urban public transportation”.
“As the result of the ambitious steps we have taken with our innovative and environmentally friendly products, we have achieved a stable growth both in Turkey and abroad,” says Karsan chief executive Okan Baş.
Karsan has featured in Milano and Rimini auto shows, receiving its award at the Next Mobility Expo in Milano, presented to Baş who says Karsan has achieved significant success with its vehicles thanks to the high-tech mobility solutions, adding export targets have been rapidly increasing as a result.
Sustainable Bus jury members tested the e-ATA during a factory visit to Karsan in Bursa, weighing it up from a list of criteria such as sustainability, design, energy consumption, emissions, safety, comfort, silent operation and more.
The e-ATA’s full low floor allows elderly and disabled passengers to move effortlessly without encountering any steps.
Karsan is supplying e-buses to Bologna in Italy.
