Tesla partially opens its local charging network to other electric vehicles
From September 28 Tesla will partially open part of its New Zealand charging network to drivers of other electric vehicles.
Tesla says six out of 17 New Zealand supercharger sites and 30 supercharger posts will be available to non-Tesla EV drivers in Christchurch, Timaru, Queenstown, Auckland, Rotorua, and New Plymouth.
People can pay for the supercharging service by downloading the Tesla app and creating a Tesla account, then selecting “charge your non-Tesla” and finding a supercharger site, adding the payment method, selecting a stall, unlocking the adapter, plugging in the EV and tapping “Start Charging”.
Select “Stop Charging” to complete the session.
