Taupo Tesla superchargers smashed

Four Tesla superchargers have been vandalised in Taupo.

Photos of the damaged superchargers were put on the NZ EV Owners Facebook page by Andrew Tuck on March 21 who says two of the four superchargers were still working.

Taupo Police received multiple calls regarding a man smashing EV charging stations and have confirmed an arrest, The Driven reports.

A 31-year-old man was arrested for intentional damage, driving with excess breath alcohol, and is due to appear in the Taupo District Court on March 27, says The Driven, adding police confirm the man was driving a Ford Ranger.
