Tesla has six new NZ public charging sites planned
Tesla may soon have more than 30 supercharger sites across New Zealand, confirming it has six new locations.
It has told Tesla owners it will build two new supercharger sites in Auckland (Botany and Epsom) and plans new sites in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty, Waipapa in the Bay of Islands, Nelson and Dunedin – all expected to be ready by the end of this year.
Tesla has nearly 25 supercharger sites running in New Zealand, with those in Queenstown and Whangarei among its most southern and northern places open respectively.
Last year, Tesla reported selected chargers would be available for non-Tesla EVs to use.
The new supercharger sites’ confirmation follows the opening of New Zealand’s largest EV charging hub in Tauranga – ChargeNet’s Tauranga Crossing hub.
