Polestar launching in France, appoints new MD
Polestar will officially begin operations in France in the Northern Hemisphere summer of 2025, and it has appointed a new managing director for the market launch.
Polestar believes France is one of the biggest EV markets globally, and it has appointed Frenchman Stéphane Le Guevel as the new managing director for the country, effective February 2025.
The brand will establish itself in France with an agency distribution model, relying on several existing partners from the Volvo network.

Vehicles will be available both online via the Polestar website and in showrooms which the brand will open in several cities nationwide.
Le Guevel has managed the Polestar brand in Spain and Portugal since 2022.
He was previously the managing director of Opel France, Stellantis UK, Peugeot UK, Peugeot Belgium/Luxembourg, Peugeot Citroen Russia, and Peugeot Poland.
Polestar says Le Guevel’s 30 years of automotive industry experience and launching brands in new markets will be valuable in supporting it’s growth in France.
“After three exciting years on the Iberian Peninsula, I am extremely honoured to launch Polestar in the French market at such a strategic moment for the brand’s international expansion,” Le Guevel says.
“Polestar embodies an ambitious vision for the future of mobility, combining performance, design, technology, and sustainability. We are eager to introduce French customers to the excellence of our models and assist them in their transition to electric and responsible driving.”
