Polestar teases Formula 2030 concept previewing the next Polestar 2 and 7

Polestar has confirmed a concept car called Formula 2030 that previews the design of its next two models, the replacement Polestar 2 due in 2027 and the Polestar 7 compact SUV planned for 2028.

The company has released a single darkened image showing the concept’s front, with an evolution of its dual blade headlight signature the only clearly visible feature. The car is being shown first to investors, retailers and selected customers at a strategy event at The Cube, Polestar’s Gothenburg headquarters, before a global debut later this year on the media drive of the Polestar 4 SUV.

Polestar describes the concept as part of a wider 2030 strategy aimed at continued growth and a drive to profitability, and says it moves the brand’s Scandinavian design language, materials and sustainability work onto a next chapter while emphasising performance.

“Polestar’s design and brand is already so strong, it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before,” says head of design Philipp Römers. “Formula 2030 delivers this, showcasing our future while respecting brand-defining elements like the familiar dual blade headlights ensuring it remains recognisably a Polestar.”

The models it previews are the ones that matter most to the brand’s volume: the Polestar 2 successor and the Polestar 7, the latter to be built in Europe as the company diversifies manufacturing from its current North American and Asian plants. Polestar’s line-up currently runs to five models, with the Polestar 6 roadster also planned.
