Alpine Energy adopts sustainable approach to new home

South Canterbury’s Alpine Energy is focused on energy-efficiency at its new office development which is being built on the company’s site at the Washdyke industrial park.

The $12 million development will house more than 170 staff from Alpine Energy and NETcon – a professional services company that services electricity and other industries.

Alpine Energy chief executive Andrew Tombs says the move is an exciting one for both companies.

“This development is aimed at ‘future proofing’ our business taking into account growth and staff expansion in a building that is energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

“While the building is industrial in nature it is also modern with its use of open and shared meeting spaces, ensuring staff will work in a comfortable, efficient environment.”

Currently the companies are spread across three buildings and several portacoms.

Tombs says the current Alpine Energy offices will eventually be dismantled and removed to provide additional yard space.

The existing NETcon buildings will be retained and used for training purposes.

It is scheduled for completion by early 2018.
