AV partnership between Quanergy and Chery

Lidar sensor provider Quanergy Systems is partnering with one of China’s largest auto makers Chery Automobile on autonomous vehicles (AVs) and smart cities.

“As the autonomous vehicle industry matures, it is imperative to build an ecosystem that supports a transportation network with reliable solutions,” Chery intelligent vehicle business group vice-president Dr Yong Huang says.

Quanergy has a Qortex DTC system based on Lidar hardware and artificial intelligence (AI) software which can play a key role in monitoring and regulating the flow of vehicles and people at intersections, and can communicate data to the connected vehicles using 5G.

“Chery is making massive strides in bringing not only intelligent vehicles but also intelligent transportation systems to market,” Quanergy chief executive officer Dr Louay Eldada says.
