Charge laid after woman hit by e-scooter

electric-scooter 2A man charged with careless use of a vehicle causing injury after a woman was hit by an electric scooter on a central Auckland footpath has been granted interim name suppression in the Auckland District Court.

The alleged incident happened on June 25 on the Fanshawe St footpath after Debra Christensen stepped off a bus, recorded by a camera attached to the bus, the NZ Herald reports.

She suffered head lacerations and was treated at Auckland City Hospital, a bus passenger reportedly calling 111 to report the incident.

The man is due to reappear in court on October 2 after gaining remand without plea.
