ChargeNet suggests checking EV charging station status before departure.

So says ChargeNet’s website, the National Park charging station being an important one for smaller EVs travelling to and from Whanganui on State Highway 4.

“Severe weather from Cyclone Gabrielle is affecting the electricity network across New Zealand, impacting some of the charging stations on our network,” ChargeNet NZ explains on its website.

“We continue to monitor faults and offline messages and will address them as conditions allow.

“Electricity and communications networks are impacted, so please expect disruptions.”

ChargeNet urges EV drivers to avoid travelling unless they have to and to check the status of charging stations on their route before departing.

Tairua (opposite Ambulance Station), Tokomaru Bay (Waitangi St), Matawai (Matawai Rd), Tolaga Bay (Cook St), Huka Falls Jet (Taupo), Gisborne (Gladstone Rd and The Warehouse), Morere (State Highway 2), Wairoa (Queen St), Mahia (43 Moana Drive), Putorino, McVicar Rd (Napier-Taupo Highway), Napier (Dickens Street Car Park), Greenmeadows (New World), Hastings (City Car Park), Waipukurau (Civic Theatre carpark), and Woodville (iSite Vogel Street).
