Chery Australia has released a detailed specification sheet for its Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute, confirming a 34kWh battery, a WLTP electric range of up to 96km, and a payload of 765kg.

The sheet covers the Stockman Ultimate, and Chery Australia says customer deliveries there start on 1 February 2027. The Stockman is due in New Zealand in 2027, and Chery New Zealand has yet to confirm local pricing.

The powertrain pairs a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel making 140kW and 450Nm with a four-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, for combined outputs of 350kW and 800Nm. All-wheel drive is standard, with 4H, 4L and an intelligent 4WD mode, and front, centre and rear differential locks.

The 34kWh lithium iron phosphate battery sits under the tub. Chery claims 96km of electric range on all-terrain tyres, energy use of 311Wh/km and combined fuel use of 1.1L/100km on the WLTC cycle. Earlier figures quoted 100km of electric range and 2.0L/100km on the older NEDC cycle. The battery charges at up to 6.6kW on AC and 70kW on DC, and the diesel tank holds 80 litres.

Suspension is double wishbone at the front with leaf springs at the rear. The Stockman rides on 17-inch alloys with 285/70 all-terrain tyres and carries a full-size alloy spare. Off-road modes include Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock, along with turn assist, crawl control and an Expert mode.
