Following the launch of the new mid-engine C8 version in Los Angeles, Chevrolet has indicated a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version is likely, and possibly a fully electric too.

Chevrolet sources confirm to Autocar the powertrain is designed to allow for electrification, with insiders suggesting mild hybrid, PHEV and possibly full electric versions considered.

about Corvette electrified variants General Motors president Mark Reuss says; “The company is committed to a strategy of 0-0-0: zero emissions, zero crashes and zero congestion. All of the technology rolling into this vehicle is meant to support that. This platform can carry a lot of different things into the future for General Motors.”

He declines to elaborate further but confirms the Corvette will be produced in right-hand drive and sold in European markets.
