Daimler on board with electric trucks
Electrification of all new trucks and buses in coming years has been announced by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), part of Daimler Trucks, under its E-Fuso brand.
This came as the company unveiled its E-Fuso Vision One at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The all-electric heavy-duty truck concept has a 350km range, a gross vehicle weight of 21 tonnes and can carry more than 10 tonnes.
It can be fitted with batteries up to 300kW/h.
“Our E-Fuso Vision One is an outlook on a feasible all-electric heavy-duty truck,” MFTBC president and chief executive officer Marc Llistosella says.
“It underlines our commitment to electrify our complete product range. Just one month ago we launched our eCanter (100km range), the first serial-produced, all-electric light duty truck.
“In the future, all our electrified vehicles will run under the name of E-Fuso, our new product brand dedicated exclusively to electric trucks and buses.”
