Drive Electric Earth Day April
A US national EV promotion starting on Easter Sunday April 17 may gain favour here too.
Drive Electric Earth Day is a US national campaign to share information about EVs throughout April.
Its website says that in addition to being better for the environment, EVs are more fun to drive, more convenient to fuel and less expensive to operate than gasoline vehicles.
EV promoters the Better NZ Trust is planning to start a Northland EV road-trip loop on April 18 which was delayed from last October due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“I might suggest some of the (EV) champions consider a meeting in their local areas and line it up with this (Drive Electric Earth Day),” says trust chair Kathryn Trounson.
That’s prompted Trounson to say they might consider something in relation to the month-long Drive Electric Earth Day campaign.
Meanwhile, the trust’s Sean Dick is inviting NZ EV owners via their Facebook page to join a survey to determine if the road user charge EV exemption (due to end March 31, 2024) has had any effect.
