Electric BMW i7 price and specs revealed
The electric BMW i7 xDrive60 sedan is priced at $276,900 with customer deliveries expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year, says BMW New Zealand.
The price includes GST but excludes on-road costs, the i7 having fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology with dual motors to produce 400kW power and 745Nm torque, and up to 625km range (WLTP) from the 106kWh battery.
It’s offered as a long wheelbase version (3215mm) and comes with a complimentary third generation BMW Wallbox in addition to ChargeNow membership which includes a 10% discount on charging.
The flagship 7 Series sedan is renowned for its standard-setting levels of sophistication, technology and refinement, says BMW New Zealand.
Monolithic surfaces and new signature front end styling with headlight units split into two sections give it a commanding presence, the headlights featuring BMW Crystal Headlights Iconic Glow manufactured by Swarovski.
Automatic opening and closing doors are accompanied by a ‘grand entrance’ light sequence, while the BMW Interaction Bar features decorative interior lighting and imperceptible air vents.
The optional BMW Theatre Screen, set to launch in New Zealand in 2023, offers rear occupants a 31.3-inch screen with touchscreen capability that folds down from the headliner when activated for use.
BMW Touch Command, which comprises two built-in touch screen units in the door panels, enables rear seat occupants to operate radio, paired smartphones, the My Modes functions, rear seat adjustments, roller blinds, climate control and lighting.
A merino leather and cashmere wool interior exudes supreme comfort and luxury, while sustainability elements include a high proportion of natural and recycled materials, and use of green energy in production.
Comprehensive chassis upgrades as well as fitment of two-axle air suspension and adaptive damping as standard ensure comfort.
An innovative technology toolkit with new generation of sensors, enhanced software stack and powerful computing platform allies with the latest suite of cutting-edge active safety technologies.
The addition of the i7 will underline BMW Group as one of the leading manufacturers in New Zealand for the breadth of its electrified vehicle line-up, the brand says.
Customers can customise the appearance of their vehicle with the availability of different exterior offerings.
M Sport is standard on the i7 xDrive60, while M Sport Pro, which can be specified at no cost to the customer, adds additional touches such as M Sport brakes with callipers finished in high gloss black, M Rear Spoiler – also in high gloss black – and BMW Individual high-gloss shadow line with extended contents.
Customers can also opt for an entirely different aesthetic via Design Pure Excellence – also a no-cost option. This replaces shadow line with chrome line, changes the brake callipers to grey and adds chrome side sills among other highlights.
A new range of paint finishes enables customers to personalise their BMW i7, including optional BMW individual two-tone paintwork.
Connoisseur Lounge integrates the Executive Lounge feature, which includes an optimised reclining seat position with calf support and folding centre armrest.
Standard fit Panorama Glass Roof Sky Lounge adds to the premium ambience with a newly designed light show using light threads dynamically backlit by LED units. The sequence replicates the pattern of the seat surface quilting, while the colour of the lighting effect takes its cue from the chosen My Mode but can also be selected independently.
Multifunction seats for the driver and front passenger are fitted as standard, featuring heating, active seat ventilation, lumbar support, head restraint adjustment (height and depth), massage function for driver and passenger and the travel and comfort system, which includes USB-C ports behind the backrest for attachment and connection of external smart tablets.
The BMW iDrive controller, start/stop button, volume roller dial, gear selector and seat adjustment buttons are all finished in premium crystal cut glass.
The cabin also has the latest generation of BMW Operating System 8.
A fully digital BMW Curved Display, enhanced capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and the latest version of the BMW Head-Up Display, aid the driver, along with satellite navigation system including the highly advanced augmented reality function whereby directional arrows appear on the high-definition display.
Parking assistant professional takes tight space manoeuvring to the next level, integrating manoeuvre assistant.
Reversing assistant has a 200metre travel distance, eclipsing the previous system’s 50metre range, while also including improved object detection in the surround view camera system.
High speed DC charging with up to 195kW will enable a range increase by about 170km in 10 minutes.
