Electric trucks delivered in China

The first batch of 100 electric trucks from Xugong Heavy Truck has been delivered to Shenzhen in south-eastern China, the city linking Hong Kong to China’s mainland.

The Hanvan G7 “super-torque” electric 8x4s have 305km range, an 80km/h top speed fully loaded and 2800Nm of torque.

They have a 363kW battery bank and a cab chassis tare of 13.4 tonnes.

At the same time, 200 Hanvan G5 liquified natural gas (LNG) trucks ‘tractor’ units were delivered too.

Shenzhen has already electrified its bus fleet of more than 16,000 vehicles and is also using electric trucks, mainly for environmental services such as waste collection.

Xugong Group deputy general manager Luo Donghai, other dignitaries and more than 100 staff and customer representatives attended the delivery ceremony on June 14.

Xugong Heavy Truck is described as an important business segment of the group through its new energy vehicle project.

Last year, Xugong Group XCMG exported some of its EVs to New Zealand and other markets, becoming China ‘s first export to developed countries in the field of new energy logistics vehicles.

Etrucks is XCMG’s New Zealand representative and holds stock of smaller, fully electric trucks.
