Etrucks to bring Windrose long-range electric semi tractors to NZ

Auckland-based distributor Etrucks is working with Chinese electric heavy-duty truck developer Windrose Technology to be the first to introduce long-range electric trucks into New Zealand.

Etrucks has placed an initial order with Windrose Technology for 20 units. The first sample of the Windrose E1400 6×4 semi-truck will arrive here in September for extended local testing and production orders will be accepted from mid 2025.

Combined with a 729kWh battery capacity, testing in China, the United States and Europe has shown the Windrose is capable of 670km duration on one charge loaded to 49 tonnes GVM.

The dual drive axles offer a peak power of 1040kW (1400hp), much higher than any on-highway truck in New Zealand. Four motor continuous power delivers up to 680kW (900hp). On a full-load, the truck can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 22 seconds.
