EV charging at Mystery Creek

Two new electric vehicle charging stations have opened at Mystery Creek Events Centre’s headquarters.
The New Zealand National Fieldays Society commissioned the chargers, which were opened by its chief executive Peter Nation, Waipa Networks chief executive Adam Fletcher and transport minister Simon Bridges.
Nation says it was approached by Waipa Networks and Hyundai NZ regarding the installation of EV stations at Mystery Creek.
The chargers were launched during Fieldays which was themed Leading Change, a concept which supports renewable energy initiatives, he says.
The chargers are located centrally between Hamilton Airport and Cambridge and are available for use between 9am and 5pm weekdays.
Hamilton Airport marketing manager Rebecca Corbett says the location of the EV stations will help support the development of the area.
The installation of the EV stations were jointly sponsored by Waipa Networks and Hyundai NZ, with both organisations invested in ensuring that access to stations is readily available across the region.
