EV film on Leading the Charge itinerary

The film Revenge of the Electric Car will be shown in Whanganui when the Leading the Charge road trip stops there on March 24.

Fittingly, it will include a question and answer session with Chelsea Sexton who featured in the first film Who Killed the Electric Car? and this follow-up in which she was a consulting producer.

Sexton, an EV advocate from California who worked for the ill-fated General Motors EV1 electric vehicle programme and was laid off in 2001, is here for the entire March 14-April 4 EV road trip.

The film, presented by the Whanganui Film Society in co-operation with Black Pine Architects, previews the global resurgence of EVs.

Proceeds from the film session go to Whanganui Green Bikes.

Prior to the 7.30pm film showing, the road trip EVs will be at Pak’nSave Whanganui where visitors can ride in a Tesla and drive a Nissan Leaf or Hyundai Ioniq from noon to 2.30pm.

The tour then continues to Palmerston North, Havelock North, Napier, Gisborne’s Electric Village, Mount Maunganui, Hamilton, then Auckland for Easter.
