Reaching out to current and prospective EV drivers, World EV Day is designed to generate increased consumer awareness about the benefit of EVs, putting driving electric at the top of the agenda.

World EV Day will ask drivers to commit to an online pledge to make their next car an EV. This will be a tangible demonstration of how World EV Day will encourage recognition of the crucial role that EVs play in driving forward sustainable transport.

“As part of ABB Electrification’s Mission to Zero, we are committed to enabling a cleaner and greener society for all,” ABB e-mobility infrastructure solutions global business head Frank Muehlon says.

“World EV Day shines a spotlight on the need for greater electric vehicle uptake, and we hope this campaign will help to catalyse a global movement which will support a zero-emission transport future.”

As a global leader in e-mobility, ABB is committed to driving innovation in the sector, supporting greater EV adoption.

It has unrivalled expertise in electrification, having sold more than 14,000 DC fast chargers across at least 80 countries.

ABB recently received the Global E-mobility Leader 2019 award for its role in supporting the international adoption of sustainable transport solutions.

“We want to ensure that World EV Day addresses the pressing issues of climate change and air quality, and we are asking everyone to commit to doing their bit for a sustainable future by driving electric,” media company Green.TV founder Ade Thomas says.

World EV Day will be working with other partners and leaders in the e-mobility sector to build an international e-mobility movement.

Additional partners include EV and related technologies manufacturer Mahindra Electric Mobility, EV maker Polestar, United Kingdom energy company SSE, and Chinese EV manufacturer Nio.
