EV road trip changed

Registrations of interest are being taken for the 2020 Leading the Charge
EV road tour of New Zealand.
The Better NZ Trust event has a different format this year, with no rides and drives but plenty of fun for EV owners.
The rally style road tour from September 26 to October 3 has sightseeing at most stops, along with meet and greet events with local EV fans.
Dates have been set to coincide with International Drive Electric Week.
The North Island and South Island will each have its own 10-day loop and will run concurrently, with the opportunity to switch from one to the other as they pass through the Picton and Wellington areas.
In the North Island, the tour starts and finishes in Auckland, running via New Plymouth one way and Taupo and Coromandel the other.
For the South Island, EV road trippers start and finish in Dunedin, travelling via Timaru, Christchurch, Kaikoura, Wesport, Fairlie and Queenstown.
Expressions of interest are sought to gauge support for the tour, organisers saying at least five responses were received within 10 minutes of the questionnaire going live.
