EV unveiled by Kalashnikov
Russian arms maker Kalashnikov has revealed a new but retro looking electric car.
Known for its AK-47 machine gun, the company showed the CV-1 at a defence expo, saying it was inspired by a rare 1970s model and that the technology will rival Tesla.
Based on the 1970s Izh-Kombi Soviet hatchback model, the CV-1 has a 350km range, Kalashnikov Concern says.

It says the car has a 90kWh battery and can go from 0 to 100km/h in six seconds.
The company has been expanding its brand into civilian gear including mobile phone covers
Russians are sceptical about the EV.
Facebook page comments included “cyberpunk”, “Izh-Zombie” and a suggestion to stick with tanks.
