EVs among WWCOTY winners
The Peugeot 308 has been awarded the Supreme Winner Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) for 2022.

Set to launch in New Zealand this year, the revised new 308 brings more aggressive styling to the hatchback nameplate along with two different plug-in hybrid powertrains (PHEV availability being a first for the model).
A fully electric version is due out next year.
Its WWCOTY victory follows stringent new vehicle testing by 56 women motoring journalists from around the world – including New Zealand.
“The Peugeot 308 is an automobile that offers just about everything you could want in a car,” says New Zealand WWCOTY judge Sandy Myhre.
“It drives very well and it’s hard to believe there’s only a 1.2-litre engine under the bonnet of most versions.”
EVs comprised many of the WWCOTY class winners – including BMW’s fully electric iX which won Best Large SUV, the Ford Mustang Mach-E with Best Family Car and the Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV winning Best 4×4 while the Audi e-tron GT won Best Performance Car.
