BYD Atto 3 leads new EV January registrations

The BYD Atto 3 clocked 235 registrations in January – 89 more than its nearest rival the MG ZS (166).

Next up is the Kia EV6 with 149 registrations, followed by the Kia Niro (136) then the Tesla Model Y just one behind that on 135.

With five new EVs in double figures, the Tesla Model 3 comes in sixth with 57 registrations, just ahead of the Kia Niro Plus on 55.

Others in the top 16 include the Hyundai Kona (35), Peugeot 208 (25), Mini Hatch (23), Mercedes-Benz EQA (22), Peugeot 2008 (19), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (17), Opel Mokka (16), BMW 4 Series (14) and the Polestar 2 (10).

Tesla shipments from Shanghai could influence the next registration round with reports of thousands at the Shanghai South Port Terminal ready to go.
