EVs win Good Design awards
Hyundai received awards in five different categories at the 2021 Good Design Awards with its Ioniq 5 a transportation sector winner along with the Kia EV6 and the Genesis X Concept.
The Genesis Wireless EV Charging System and the Genesis EV Home Charger were also recognised for their human-centred design while Hyundai Motor Company had wins in several other categories, including interactive media, household, mobile applications and graphic design.

Hyundai Global Design Centre head and executive vice president SangYup Lee says Hyundai is greatly honoured to be recognised, including a transportation award for its E-Pit Ultra-Fast Charging Station, Hyundai EV Infotainment System – Jong-e, HTWO Hydrogen Power Generation System, Hyundai Connectivity Application – Autolink in New Zealand, and a graphic design for its Hyundai Brand Collection.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motorsport has entered its i20 N Rally1 challenger combining a 1.6-litre internal combustion engine with a plug-in hybrid unit in the new hybrid era of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) for the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles in 2022, starting at Rallye Monte-Carlo (January 20-23).
Rally New Zealand and Rally Japan are set to return, having been forced to relinquish their rallies for the past two seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
