First electric car from Uniti in December

Uniti launches its first electric car on December 7, with deliveries scheduled from early 2019.

The Swedish firm based at Landskrona makes the Uniti light-weight urban electric car from sustainable composite materials. Features include a fully electronic steering system and a smart, full-screen heads-up display, as well as an unusual approach to safety and sustainability.

The car’s intended as a second family commuter vehicle.

Uniti’s founder and chief executive officer is Australian born Lewis Horne. He says Landskrona has a long history of advancing the transition to clean energy and mobility. “It is a well-established shipping and logistics hub, with almost 100% high-speed internet coverage, will deliver clean energy to the facility.”

The launch is expected to be before several thousand people, including more than 1000 investors, car buyers (who have 915 reservations), and company partners and supporters.

The event will include an exhibition from many key partners, including Siemens and KUKA Robotics.

Uniti began transitioning its operations to Landskrona on November 1, expected to be completed by March.

The company will expand its evaluation prototyping process and production planning during its first year.
