EVs in construction, agriculture and mining (CAM) is set to become a $100 billion market soon, says IDTechEx chairman Dr Peter Harrop, presenting a free webinar on the subject on April 8.

CAM vehicles have similar technology and are increasingly supplied by the same manufacturers facing a $100 billion opportunity with none of the problems of the car industry.

“Indeed, the more savvy Tier One car suppliers are successfully moving into this arena,” Harrop says.

The webinar shares some of the research for the new IDTechEx report Electric Vehicles in Construction, Agriculture and Mining 2020-2030

, which addresses a huge opportunity.

It will show how CNH Industrial, John Deere, Komatsu and named others are broadly active.

Small businesses can prosper from making the new requirements such as drones, mine survey robots and solar weeding robots, Harrop explains.

He says the construction site, farm and mine of the future is going electric and the webinar will illustrate how that power will be made on-site off-grid with zero emission.

“The purpose of the research is to provide uniquely up-to-date, penetrating analysis and forecasts of the CAM EV technology and markets globally for all in the value chain from investors, researchers and materials suppliers to vehicle and microgrid manufacturers and operators, system integrators, facilities managers and legislators.”

The same 20-minute webinar will be held three times in one day and is expected to be useful for those in lockdown to counter the spread of Covid-19.

On April 8 it will be held at 9am (GMT+8) Australian Western Standard Time, 11.30am (GMT+10.30) Australian Central Time, noon (GMT+11) Australian Eastern Time and 2pm (GMT+13) Auckland, New Zealand.
