Genter to address transport conference

Associate transport minister Julie Anne Genter is to give the opening address at the sixth annual Transport Knowledge Conference at the James Cook Grand Chancellor in Wellington on December 5.

The theme is ‘Transport’s contribution to wellbeing and liveability’ with the conference aiming to bring together transport research, data and evaluation community with government officials, decision makers and policy teams from the across the wider transport sector.

Other speakers include transport engineering foundation professor David Levinson from the University of Sydney School of Civil Engineering, the Ministry of Transport’s Richard Cross, Bryn Gandy, and Gareth Fairweather; David Shepherd of KiwiRail, and University of Auckland’s environmental health expert and e-mobility specialist professor Alistair Woodward.

Presentations cover inclusive access, healthy and safe people, environmental sustainability, resilience and security, and economic prosperity through the transport system.
