GM’s Wuling Mini EV four-door launched

SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has officially launched its Mini EV variant in China.

General Motors’ second joint venture in China has launched the new Wuling Mini EV four-door in the country’s domestic market as the first model in the range of the second-generation Mini EV range.

“Since its debut in 2020, the Hong Guang Mini EV family has been recognised by 1.5 million users for its unique styling and convenience,” says GM China.

“The newest family member, the Mini EV four-door, offers even more of both, with two rear doors as well as a longer wheelbase,” the company says.

It was officially launched in the Chinese market with “Advanced, Premium and Premium+” trim levels.

All come as standard with a comprehensive range of safety and technology features such as electronic safety control, the Autohold braking system, electronic parking brake and a cage-shaped body with enhanced protection.

The Wuling Mini EV four-door four seater offers an upgraded powertrain powered by a 30kW electric motor as well as an optimised and more-efficient Wuling Shenlian battery pack, providing a driving range of 205km on a single charge, along with fast charging capability, says GM Authority, adding the new EV is for sale throughout SGMW’s China official dealer network.

“The new-generation four-door variant will sit alongside the current versions of the original model, while the three-door variant of the redesigned model will soon be introduced,” says GM Authority which also provides pricing for the three trim levels in China.
