Honda e for Europe

Honda plans to start selling its Honda e minicar in Europe from June and has confirmed a second EV will be launched there around 2021-2022.

The Japanese auto manufacturer expects to sell about 10,000 Honda es annually in Europe, Electrek reports, adding the US is likely to get more hybrids from Honda instead.

The Honda e has a 35.5kW/h battery providing 220km range.

All of Honda’s European mainstream models could be electrified by 2022, Europe’s carbon regulations reportedly prompting the move.

The second Honda EV will be one of four new electrified cars the company will launch.

Moving to hybrids – Honda doubts there will be a huge rise in demand for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) – the company has indicated it’s shelving plans for hydrogen and getting out of diesel.
