Hyundai NZ extends warranties for some vehicles during pandemic

Kona

Hyundai New Zealand is providing warranty and service interval extensions for some customers during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The move extends Hyundai Motor Company’s just-announced Hyundai CARE global warranty extension policy for customers who can’t get vehicles maintained during the pandemic.

Hyundai NZ says it will ensure all Hyundais with factory warranties that expire between March 1 and May 31 this year, will have their warranties extended until June 30. The extension affects more than 2000 vehicles.

Hyundais due for scheduled servicing during the lockdown will have the service interval extended until June 30. That means that a delayed service caused by the lockdown won’t affect the vehicle’s warranty.

Customers not eligible for either extension are being offered complimentary six-month roadside assistance for the first 1000 customers to register.

“We appreciate that during lockdown our customers have no access to vehicle servicing..,” says Hyundai NZ general manager, Andy Sinclair. “As a New Zealand owned company, we want to provide peace of mind to our customers regarding eligibility for warranty repairs and related services in the coming months.”
