HYVIA Master Van heads to Hydrogen Europe Show
Following a week on display at the Paris Motor Show, a production version of the zero-emission HYVIA Renault Master Van H2-Tech will make its debut in Brussels at the Hydrogen Europe Show from October 24 to 28.
A joint venture between the Renault Group and Plug, HYVIA was created in June 2021 and it has recently opened online reservations for the hydrogen-powered Master Van.
HYVIA chief operating officer Mehdi Ferhan will be speaking at the conference on October 25 about the transformation of the hydrogen mobility sector. This round table is part of the European Hydrogen Week (24-28 October), reputedly the biggest annual event dedicated to hydrogen technology.
The joint venture company says it is aiming for a 30% share of the European market for its hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles by 2030.
The Hydrogen Master H2-TECH has a load volume of 12m3, for the transportation of goods and parcels. It is equipped with a 30 kW fuel cell, a 33 kWh battery and tanks containing 6.4 kg of hydrogen (4 tanks of 1.6 kg).
Its main advantages are zero emissions, a recharge time of 5 minutes and a range of 400 km. It has a height of 1.8 metres in the loading area, making it possible to stand upright inside for the loading and unloading of freight.
Manufactured in France, production of the vehicle takes place at the Batilly plant, assembly and testing of the fuel cell at the HYVIA plant in Flins and integration of the fuel cell at Gretz-Armainvilliers, near Paris.
HYVIA has recently been confirmed as part of the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) “Hy2Tech”, which the joint venture says is a major step to develop partnerships with many other French and European players.
It will also benefit from the support of the French government for the development of several generations of vehicles, and for the deployment of its fuel cell plant.
