ICEd packs offered

‘Take charge’ packs notifying ICE vehicle owners blocking EV charging spots (known as ICEd) or even an EV parked there but not charging are now available from ChargeSmart.

“There’s nothing worse than being unplugged or turning up to a charger to find it blocked by an ICE vehicle or an EV not charging. These packs put the power back in your hands,” says ChargeSmart which has launched the packs this week to the NZ ICEd and EV Blocked Facebook group.

A selection of DC and AC charging hangtags and window reminders are provided by ChargeSmart – a “Complete Take Charge Pack” of two DC and two AC hangtags and 10 window reminders in handmade envelopes costing $29.99 for instance – just in time for Christmas too.

“Need a decent charge before heading off on a trip? Hang the ‘necessity’ hangtag on while you charge,” ChargeSmart chief executive Nigel Broomhall says.

“Just dropped in and grabbing a cheeky top-up? Hang the ‘opportunity’ hangtag on.”

Window reminders include “Not sure if you noticed’ and “Hey there cheeky!” labels which go under the wiper.

​“The best part? If someone gets grumpy they will take it out on us,” Broomhall says.

“And that’s OK, we’ll be happy to talk to them. After all, we’re ChargeSmart – not charge dumb.”
