ITSNZ AGM goes digital, Transport Innovators event rescheduled

The ITSNZ AGM will be run online on September 3, originally planned as a double event with a Transport Innovators panel, the latter moved to October 7.

Both the AGM and the Transport Innovators panel event hosted by the Young Transport Professionals were planned at the Beca auditorium, 21 Pitt St, Auckland, at 3.30pm on September 3.

Auckland will have just moved out of COVID-19 level 3 restrictions into level 2 by then but will still limit numbers at gatherings, prompting ITSNZ’s online move for its AGM but delaying the panel until October – although it will continue to be held at the same venue.

The ITSNZ AGM agenda includes a welcome from the executive officer Simon McManus, reports from chair Mike Rudge and president Stephen Hewett, plus the presentation of the ITSNZ 2020-2022 Business Plan – now all online. Registrations are via their website.

Young Transport Professionals leaders Amy Strang and Armin Guttke are also expected to add their report at the AGM but will now host the Transport Innovators panel scheduled the same evening on October 7 instead.

The October 7 evening networking event will be the first physical event for the rapidly growing YTP initiative and features a keynote from entrepreneur, NZ Transport Agency board member and City Hop carshare founder Victoria Carter who will be joined by three other panelists.

The panel will feature Ohmio Automotion and HMI Technologies research and development head Dr Mahmood Hikmet, Mooven business development manager Shannyn Hiroti, and e-bike advocate and founder of Big Street Bikers Cleve Cameron who recently launched the Locky Docks solution in conjunction with Mercury.

Strang and Guttke also plan to take the Transport Innovators event on the road and are well underway planning similar events for Wellington and Christchurch.
