Jaguar I-Pace ‘smarter’

Jaguar’s electric I-Pace SUV now has smarter stuff available, including quicker charging capability and a new intuitive infotainment system.

The Pivi Pro infotainment system is as quick and easy to use as a smartphone, with self-learning navigation that can show the nearest available charging station, Jaguar says.

Faster home charging with an 11kW (AC) domestic wall box can add 53km range (WLTP) an hour for customers with three-phase supplies, the EV coming with an 11kW on-board charger as standard.

A full charge from empty can be achieved in 8.6 hours.

Customers in single-phase markets using 7kW wallboxes also get up to 35km of charge per hour, with a full charge taking 12.75 hours.  When charging ‘on the go’, a 50kW charger will add up to 63km in 15 minutes, while a 100kW charger will add up to 127km over the same period.

The I-Pace has an eight year or 60,000km battery warranty.

Acceleration from 0-100km/h is in 4.8 seconds and up to 470km (WLTP) range is available.

Greater connectivity includes wireless device charging, embedded Spotify, and Bluetooth for two phones at the same time.

Driver Assistance technology features a new 3D surround camera and ClearSight rear-view digital mirror.

Cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 filtration captures ultrafine particles and allergens, the I-Pace even able to filter cabin air while on charge before a journey.

A more distinctive design includes Atlas Chrome finish to grille pins as standard, enhanced paint palette, 19-inch wheels and a new Bright Pack option.

Enhanced software-over-the-air capability is provided. Systems including infotainment, battery management and charging which can be updated remotely and enable the I-Pace to continuously improve.

The Jaguar I-Pace is available to order now, priced from A$128,860 plus on-road costs in Australia, with New Zealand pricing yet to be confirmed.

Jaguar Land Rover New Zealand product and network development manager Paul Ricketts says the updated I-Pace is expected in New Zealand in the first half of next year.

The I-Pace has won more than 80 global awards, including 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car.
