Most of the major automotive brands debut electric and electrified vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show (formerly the Tokyo Motor Show), open to the public from October 28 to November 5.

Mitsubishi Motors’ booth includes an electrified crossover MPV concept car which will make its global debut, an Outlander plug-in hybrid (PHEV) disaster response vehicle, an Eclipse Cross PHEV, and its ek X EV4 – among others.

The company has a show website.

Lexus has unveiled two battery electric vehicle (BEV) concepts at the show, the LF-ZC (Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst) set for international release in 2026, and the LF-ZL (Lexus Future Zero-emission Luxury) flagship concept as Lexus commits to being an electrified brand by 2035.

The brand is exploring new possibilities with traditional materials by weaving bamboo fibres and threads into high-quality elements.

Lexus says the integration of its Arene OS software platform enables the vehicle to learn and anticipate the driver’s needs.

Using next-generation high-performance prismatic batteries, LF-ZC aims to achieve about twice the range of conventional BEVs.

Nissan also unveils an array of electrified concept cars at the show, while Infiniti has the “Vision Qe” concept on display and Mazda shows its “Iconic SP” concept featuring a “two-rotor rotary EV system” which can use hydrogen or other fuels to recharge the batteries.

Toyota, Honda and Subaru are among others to show electrified vehicles and concepts as well.
