Jokes to get Musk’s Cybertruck made in Oklahoma

Various parts of the central US have been vying for a Tesla Cybertruck Gigafactory since Elon Musk suggested he wanted it there.

Now Oklahoma has joined the competition, trying to grab Musk’s attention with memes.

The state is offering 607 hectares near Tulsa which it describes on its joke-filled website as BFF – short for ‘big f…….. field’, Electrek reports.

That’s a reference to Musk calling SpaceX’s multi-planetary rocket the ‘BFR’ for “big f…… rocket”.

Oklahoma website organisers are also using Twitter to get their message across, including making humorous remarks about competitors.

Meanwhile, Musk considers the right location should involve incentives, account for logistics costs and have a large workforce with a range of skills.

Electrek predicts a factory site decision soon to get the Tesla ute into production late in 2021.

Oklahoma reckons it can move as fast as a “Plaid powertrain” if selected.
