Seven-seat Kia PV5 Passenger electric van priced from $71,990
Kia’s seven-seat PV5 Passenger electric van is on sale in New Zealand from $71,990, $7,000 more than the PV5 Cargo, with 397km of WLTP range.
Kia New Zealand has priced the seven-seat, all-electric PV5 Passenger van from $71,990 plus on-road costs, and it is available now through dealers.
That is $7,000 more than the entry PV5 Cargo.
The Passenger drops the Cargo’s bulkhead behind the front seats and adds a seven-seat cabin.

Otherwise it is mechanically the same van, with a 71.2kWh battery powering a front-mounted electric motor. Peak outputs are 120kW and 250Nm, and Kia quotes 0-100km/h in 10.6 seconds, 1.8 seconds quicker than the Cargo.
WLTP range is 397km, slightly down on the Cargo’s 416km.

An 11kW onboard charger is standard, with a 22kW unit available for faster AC charging. Kia New Zealand’s release does not mention DC charging, but the PV5 Passenger charges at up to 150kW in other markets.
It comes with Kia’s full suite of driver assistance features, including lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control. The Passenger has not been tested by ANCAP, but the PV5 Cargo was awarded a Platinum rating for collision avoidance.
Inside, the seats are finished in artificial leather and the front seats are heated. There is a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

“The Kia PV5 Passenger is a significant addition to our electric vehicle line-up, offering New Zealanders a genuinely versatile seven-seat option that puts functionality, comfort and technology at the forefront,” says Kia New Zealand managing director Todd McDonald.
“For more than two decades, the Carnival has been one of New Zealand’s most trusted people movers. We evolved the Carnival from diesel to hybrid to better reflect changing customer expectations, and now the addition of the fully electric PV5 Passenger allows us to offer an even broader range of solutions for Kiwi families and businesses.”
