Kiwi electric bikes to hit US

Kiwi electric motorcycle business UBCO has appointed Robin Fiore as US sales director to help drive its expansion there.

The company says its UBCO 2×2 Electric Utility Bike being recognised as a shift in environmentally-considerate transportation for the US.

Fiore is a motorcycle sales professional with 23 years of transportation and technology industry experience.

UBCO says it will benefit from Fiore’s appointment as it pursues the US EV marketplace. He has worked as a senior district sales manager with the American Honda Motorcycle Division for the past eight years and has worked with 17 dealerships in Southern California to maximise Honda’s powersports market share.

“I have always strived to be a rebel dreamer, and am inspired to bring mobility to the masses,” says Fiore.

“When I saw the UBCO 2×2 I immediately recognised what it represented and the multiple advantages its design offers – all-electric 2×2, a low centre of gravity, great battery capacity, step-through design and near silence – just to name a few.”

The UBCO already has proven performance and sales in agriculture and recreation, including hunting, camping, RV touring and recreational riding.

New Zealand has recently put three UBCO 2×2 vehicles to trial Domino’s pizza deliveries, to see if they meet the performance requirements to be part of their delivery bike fleet. The bikes were put to test in Auckland, Taupo and Queenstown CBDs.

Since 2017, UBCO has established an Oregon-based office, launched its road legal 2×2, and grown revenue to $3 million.

The company will be launching in Europe in 2019.
