Late Show host chauffeured by PM in EV

The Late Show US talk show host Stephen Colbert is here as promised, and was driven around by prime minister Jacinda Ardern – also as promised – in a Hyundai Ioniq.

The promises were made when Ardern was a guest on The Late Show in September.

Colbert and Ardern were seen in Auckland after she reiterated she would pick him up from Auckland Airport.

He’s reported to want to “become an official citizen of Hobbiton” and planned to visit Hobbiton in Matamata.

The pair were followed by a news camera crew and New Zealand officials and were seen at a Morningside cafe.

Tourism New Zealand is reported to be working with Colbert to film some segments to be screened in November.
