MAN set for mass electric bus production
MAN is gearing up in the electric bus market with its Lion’s City E model due for mass production in 2020.
The German truck and bus manufacturer has invested 27.4 million euros in its Polish-based Starachowice plant where the electric bus will be produced.
Work to modernise the plant and have it fully equipped for electric vehicle manufacturing will be complete by 2021.
The plant has seen 1724 various bus models roll off the production line in the past year alone.
The zero-emission Lion’s City E has a range between 200km to 270km depending on operating conditions.

Starachowice plant manager Stanisław Ziętkiewicz says his workers are “building MAN city buses whose high quality is appreciated by customers from throughout the world”.
“Our products impress through their functionality and state of the art technology,” he says.
