Mercury sustainability gm appointed

Mercury has appointed its former risk assurance officer Lucie Drummond to the role of general manager sustainability – effective immediately and reporting to chief executive Vince Hawksworth.

“Lucie’s role includes responsibility for driving the framework for business strategy, environment, social and corporate governance as well as creating possibilities for Mercury focusing on the future of energy,” Hawksworth says.

He says Drummond has played a pivotal role in a number of key outcomes for Mercury, including leading its ‘Thrive’ operational improvement programme, establishing and embedding its integrated strategic framework and overseeing the strategic co-ordination of the research and development investments portfolio.

Drummond joined Mercury in 2012 and has a wide range of experience across the company. In December, she was named the 2020 Young Executive of the Year in the Deloitte Top 200 Awards.

On further executive changes (announced in January), Hawksworth says appointments for the general manager customer and general manager generation roles will be confirmed in coming months.
