The MG Cyberster two-seat EV sportscar has been announced as the winner of the Product Design category by the Red Dot Award.

First presented in 1955 as Design Innovations, the Red Dot Award has been titled as such since 2000.

Each year, a jury of 50 international experts select the best designs across three categories: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept.

MG New Zealand country manager Arek Zywot says the Cyberster is a design that represents where MG stands today and in the direction, it will head in the future.

“The Cyberster pays respects to 100 years of MG creating vehicles people love driving. It is a significant step in unlocking our growth as a brand that brings affordable cars to every segment. That message reaches our customers and fans.”

Zywot expressed his enthusiasm following the arrival of Cyberster test cars in Australia ahead of its launch later this year.

“The arrival of Cyberster in New Zealand will deliver the ultimate in exhilarating, top-down and emissions-free sports car motoring,” he says.

The Cyberster will join the MG4 when it debuts in Kiwi showrooms later this year, the fully electric hatchback having claimed numerous Car of the Year accolades, including the NZ Motoring Writers Guild and AA DRIVEN Car Guide titles, as well as category wins, awarded by NZ Autocar Magazine plus EV’s & Beyond.
