MG Motor enters top 10 NZ sales chart

MG Motor New Zealand has entered the country’s top 10 new cars for November 2020 on the back of 60 registrations of the all-electric ZS SUV in its first full month of sales.
For the month of November, the MG Motor New Zealand dealer network retailed more than 252 vehicles which puts the brand into 10th place in the top 15 new passenger car/SUV registrations with a 3% market share.
The New Zealand Motor Industry Association chief executive David Crawford says that November 2020 registrations of new vehicles remains lower than this time last year but is slightly stronger than recent months.
November registrations for the New Zealand new vehicle market came in at 14.2% below November 2019 with 11,889 vehicles registered, down 1961 units on the same month last year.
“Year to date the market is down 22.5%, which is a better result than anticipated back April when we were in the depths of the Covid-19 lockdown period,” Crawford says.
There were 142 pure electric vehicles, 92 plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and 1089 hybrid vehicles sold for the month.
