The latest in battery electric vehicles (BEVs) will be showcased at the Take Charge Christchurch Expo on November 25 and 26.

It will give the public the chance to see first-hand the vehicle technology available to make the switch from fossil-fuelled vehicles, says organiser Take Charge Events Limited, adding the two-day expo at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre is free for the public to attend.

About 47 BEV cars, vans, and a ute (the LDV eT60) will be at the expo, making it the biggest display of new BEVs in the country and covering a range of price points, says Take Charge Events Limited director Kevin Crutchley.

Abarth, Audi, BMW, BYD, Citroen, Cupra, Fiat, Ford, GWM, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Opel, Peugeot, Polestar, Porsche, Skoda, SsangYong, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, and LDV, will be among four-wheeled brands represented at the expo.

A range of EV chargers and battery electric outboard motors will also be on show.

“Anyone with an interest in battery electric vehicles is welcome to come along and see first-hand the range of technology on display and ask questions of the expert exhibitors,” says Crutchley.

“There will be prizes available, courtesy of a number of the exhibitors.”

The Take Charge Christchurch Expo is open to the public from 10am to 5pm on Saturday November 25 and from 9am to 4pm Sunday November 26.

People can enter Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre via the main entrance on Oxford Terrace.
