Porsche has launched its first Charging Lounge in Switzerland, located in Signy-Avenex, near Nyon.

This new facility adds to five existing locations in Germany and one in Austria. The lounge offers charging rates of up to 400 kW.

The Signy-Avenex location is situated close to Lake Geneva and the A1 motorway, connecting Lausanne and Geneva. This placement aims to serve the Romandy metropolitan area and travellers between Germany and France. This is the seventh such exclusive fast-charging station. Other Charging Lounges are in Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld near Würzburg, Koblach (Austria), Ingolstadt, Hamburg, and Leonberg. All Porsche electric models can be charged at these locations 24 hours a day.

The facility in Signy-Avenex, in the Canton of Vaud, has six fast-charging points, each capable of up to 400 kW. A current-generation Taycan can charge from 10 to 80 percent state of charge (SoC) in 18 minutes , while a Macan requires 21 minutes for the same charge.

The design of the new Swiss Charging Lounge, like those in Hamburg and Leonberg, is based on a modular concept developed with Studio F.A. Porsche. This design integrates a consistent brand aesthetic with adaptations for specific property shapes and allows for flexible extensions. The structure’s foundation is concrete, though its use is largely minimized in the modules. A heat pump manages the lounge’s temperature , and a rooftop photovoltaic system contributes to its electricity supply.

The lounge offers a comfortable environment with lounge chairs, refreshments, a coffee machine, a water dispenser, and modern sanitary facilities. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available, and both indoor and outdoor areas are monitored continuously.

Charging costs are 0.39 CHF/kWh and are billed via the Porsche Charging Service. The Porsche Charging Lounges are displayed in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system and the My Porsche app. The My Porsche app recently received a “very good” rating in all test criteria (pricing model, usability, and network coverage) in a comparison of car manufacturers’ charging apps by Auto Bild.

Access to the charging stations and lounge requires a Porsche ID. If a license plate is linked to the Porsche ID, the barrier opens automatically via license plate recognition. Alternatively, customers can use a Porsche Charging Card or a QR code from the My Porsche app for access. Billing is handled centrally by the Porsche Charging Service, with ad hoc payment options also available.

The Porsche Charging Service provides access to over 900,000 charging points in more than 25 countries in Europe , including nearly 75,000 DC fast-charging points over 150 kW.

This network includes IONITY, which has over 750 fast-charging sites and approximately 4,900 charging points in Europe. GOFAST has been added as a new Preferred Partner in Switzerland. GOFAST AG operates approximately 90 fast-charging stations along major transport routes and aims to expand to over 200 locations across Switzerland in the coming years. Aral pulse is another Preferred Partner in Germany, contributing over 3,000 fast-charging points. Porsche Charging Service Plus customers receive a discounted rate of €0.39/kWh at Preferred Partner sites.

In 2024, Porsche increased its sales in Switzerland by over 10%, with more than 5,000 vehicles registered. Porsche Schweiz AG, a subsidiary of Porsche AG, manages 14 Porsche Centres, a Porsche Studio, and five Porsche Service Centres, employing about 60 individuals at its Rotkreuz headquarters
