Power sharing planned
Aotea Energy aims to revolutionise New Zealand’s energy market with a peer-to-peer sharing grid.
The Auckland-based company was recently awarded $50,000 to develop its sustainable energy technology as a part of the Climate Accelerator programme by Creative HQ, RNZ reports, adding it will allow surplus energy to be sold to a neighbour, or buying some.
It says Aotea Energy’s sustainable energy could go nationwide after it initially begins on Great Barrier Island.
